Prologue (F/F)
Finally, we were alone.
We made our way into the house, where I closed and locked the door behind us. This time, I wasn't going to let the opportunity slip away. This time, I wasn't going to be afraid.
Taking her hands in mine, I backed her up against the wall, gently but firmly. "Show me," I pleaded with her. "Right here, right now, no outside influences. I need to know. Please."
I could see her confusion, mingled with the slightest hint of fear. She didn't know what to say, so I leaned forward and kissed her gently, tentatively, waiting for her reaction; her response. I was desperately afraid but I had to know if her feelings were the same as the ones I felt for her. I waited for what seemed like an eternity. Somewhere along the line I realized I'd been holding my breath, and I let it out slowly as I kissed her again, tenderly, inquisitively, seeking her unspoken permission. Finally, thankfully, she gently parted her lips in response and I deepened the kiss ever so slightly, as if afraid she would suddenly bolt. I felt as though I could melt in the warm softness of her mouth. I knew in my heart she wanted me too; but I had to hear it from her. I released her hands and slid my arms around her, one hand gently caressing her back and the other sought out the back of her neck, and pulled her more deeply into the kiss. She felt incredible. Her skin was like silk, as were the tiny hairs at the back of her neck. I inhaled, a long, shuddering breath, and reluctantly broke off the kiss to embrace her warmly. I was drunk with the nearness of her; her scent filled my senses. My emotions were reeling; I was torn by the desires to ravish her roughly and to treat her like fine china. But all that could wait. Would have to wait. After holding her for a few moments, I pulled back and took her face in my hands. "Thank you," I said to her, my heart, as well as my eyes, brimming. "That's all I needed to know."
